Welcome to The Coach House Cottage in Norfolk
*Newly Opened June 2013*
Set in the heart of the Big Skies of the Norfolk Countryside, the Coach House is a stunning retreat on a private country estate, perfect for family get-togethers and small groups. Found at the end of its own sweeping driveway on the edge of the peaceful riverside village of Hilgay, a few miles south of Downham Market, it is an idyllic country getaway. An ideal base for touring East Anglia, positioned close to Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, 90 minutes by train to London and a short drive from the glorious beaches of the beautiful Norfolk Coastline, one week is never enough!
The Georgian conversion has 5 stylish bedrooms, including one on the ground floor in the old stables. There are three bathrooms, two of which are en suite and a downstairs cloakroom. The Coach House comfortably sleeps 8-10 guests and is extra-spacious for 4-5. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Our guests are treated to airy bedrooms, delightful views of the open countryside, and the modern warmth and cosiness of under-floor heating. Relax and unwind with comfortable beds, high spec bathrooms and Luxury 5 star hotel grade linens and towels — all complemented by a cosy wood-burning stove, surround sound TV and luxury kitchen. A full basket of logs is provided, and all heating, electricity and linens are complementary.
Outside, the pretty, sheltered, courtyard is bathed in sun all day with space to dine and relax around an old olive tree. The large, enclosed gardens offer plenty of space for our younger guests to enjoy the playhouse, as well as kick a ball or fly a kite. The miniature John Deere Tractors are very popular! Enjoy sitting amongst the mature oak trees taking in the stunning Norfolk sunsets and rich wildlife or take a peaceful stroll along the river. During the evening, you will see barn owls flying low over the fields and you may well be visited by our latest resident —a little deer who has chosen to live at the farm.
"An unforgettable stay in truly luxurious and genuinely rustic accommodation. Lovely out of the way feel, but at the same time convenient for the Norfolk hotspots. Definitely recommended. We'll be back!"
